Our Values
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Technical expertise deserves to be understood, trusted and acted on
Engineers also need to clarify client expectations, communicate technical risks, protect the scope and help others make informed decisions. Yet these skills are rarely taught in a way that fits how engineers think and work.
CTD develops practical business skills for engineers and technical professionals. Skills they can apply in real client conversations, projects and technical teams — without asking them to become salespeople or corporate managers.
These principles guide how we develop our training, tools and coaching.
Engineers do not need generic advice about being more confident, persuasive or commercial.
They need approaches that respect technical depth, evidence, constraints and cause-and-effect thinking.
That is why every CTD programme starts with the actual working environment of engineers: client requirements, technical risks, changing scope, competing priorities and decisions that must be made with incomplete information.
We do not simplify the technical reality. We make the business side easier to handle.
A communication model is only useful when you can apply it in Monday morning’s client meeting.
CTD translates business skills into concrete questions, conversation structures, scripts, templates and decision tools. Participants practise with situations from their own projects instead of abstract role-play that bears little resemblance to their work.
The goal is simple: understand why an approach works, know when to use it and be able to apply it independently.
Unclear expectations create rework, frustration and avoidable discussions.
We therefore communicate clearly about our programmes, prices, process and expected outcomes. No hidden conditions. No inflated promises. And no suggestion that one training can solve every organisational problem.
We are equally direct during our work. If the real problem is unclear responsibility, poor project governance or conflicting management decisions, communication training alone will not fix it. We say so.
Trust starts with an honest diagnosis.
Engineers should have enough structure to make sound decisions without becoming dependent on a trainer, manager or external advisor.
Our programmes help participants prepare conversations, assess situations and choose their own next action. Engineering managers and employers also have a role: they must provide clear responsibilities, decision space and support.
Professional development works best when individual skills and the working environment reinforce each other.
We combine proven principles with experience from leading and growing technical engineering companies.
But a method is not valuable merely because it looks good on a slide. It must survive contact with real projects, difficult clients, time pressure and technical uncertainty.
We therefore keep testing and improving our programmes through participant feedback, customer conversations and practical application. What works stays. What does not gets adjusted.
No unnecessary complexity. Just tools and skills that help engineers do better work.

I know the pressure of technical projects, demanding clients, commercial targets and growing teams.
I also know how uncomfortable the shift beyond technical delivery can feel — especially when someone suddenly expects you to influence, negotiate or lead without ever teaching you how.
CTD makes that shift more practical.
One conversation.
One decision.
One business skill at a time.
